The Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation will once again award LBHS seniors more than $300,000 in scholarships this year.
From journalism to robotics, athletics to humor, 156 graduating students can apply to over 250 scholarships in 13 different categories. The deadline to apply is March 9, at 11:59 p.m.
Additionally, the foundation has established the new Breakers Opportunity Fund, a scholarship designed to allow anyone in the community a way to donate at any level to a graduate’s higher education.
The new fund is a way former students who may have benefitted from a foundation scholarship to pay it forward, says Mark Powell, president of the Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation, which was founded in 1947 by the Ebell Club.
Awards will be made at the Honors Convocation on June 5.
