Permanently removing the historic cartoons by well-known Laguna artists (how about bringing back a few of the most iconic ones), taking down the colorful fish (why not return the most colorful one to its rightful place over the fireplace), and now discontinuing Tuesday Songwriter’s night (“Signaling Last Call for Songwriter’s Showcase,” Aug. 2 edition) (couldn’t it be held once a month), makes a mockery of the slogan by the much-changed Marine Room, “Where locals gather.”
