Dorothy Ellen Springe died on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach.
Springe was born in 1927 in Oklahoma, but spent her early years in Chicago. In the 1940s her family moved to Laguna Beach. After the war, she met and married Clyde Z. Springe, who passed away in 1987.
They raised their five children, Pamela Acker, Craig Springe, Melodi Kreymann, Robin Smith, and Darryl Springe in Laguna and later retired to San Juan Capistrano.
She is survived by her children, as well as 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was our anchor and fully participated in family life right up to the end. Although in ill health for many years, she did not give up, but fought hard to stay with us as long as possible. She is irreplaceable and will be well missed. Her loss is deeply felt by us all.
