Robert Cohen, founding chairman of UC Irvine’s drama department, and his wife Lorna Cohen, will be honored on April 24 by the department and UCI’s Trevor School of the Arts with a command performance featuring many former students, now stars of stage and screen.
The Cohens, who are Laguna Beach residents, have contributed to education, the arts and their communities and will be awarded the fourth Claire Trevor School of the Arts Commemorative Star. Aside from his formidable influence in the training of actors, Cohen has garnered an international reputation as a playwright, theatre critic, prolific author and director.
Lorna Cohen is a prominent philanthropist, educator and community advocate.
