,“Life Candy,” a new exhibit at JoAnne Artman Gallery, 326 N. Coast Highway, opens on Monday, Dec. 1.
The group exhibit welcomes audiences into a world where artist Shinji Murakami brings flat digital images into three dimensions, James Verbicky creates lush multimedia works from the discarded advertisements of yesteryear, and America Martin envisions larger-than-life women in shades of magenta and turquoise.
The show runs through Jan. 31, 2015.
Master Painter to Share His Insights
A free lecture given by painter and filmmaker David Kassan will take place from 3:30 -6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 at Laguna College of Art and Design, 2222 Laguna Canyon Rd.
Kassan is best known for his life-size representational paintings, which combine figurative subjects with abstract backgrounds or trompe-l’œil texture studies.
