Laguna local Karen K. Redding will show her newest photographic images, No Mud No Lotus, from the Kingdom of Bhutan, at the Gallery de Fox, 171 W. Second St. in the arts district of Santa Ana.

Join her at the opening reception from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, during Santa Ana’s Art Walk.

 

 

Calling All Artists

Artists of all ages are invited to bring their paintings, mixed media, photographs, jewelry, sculptures, textiles or ceramics to Gallery Q, 380 Third St., Friday, May 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. for display in the Paint the Town exhibit.

A free artist’s reception will take place from 4:30- 6 p.m. on Friday, May 26. The display is opens May 8 and closes June 23.

New Gallery Opens

Discover Emerging Artist Showcase plans a 6 p.m. grand opening during Art Walk Thursday, June 1.

The gallery at 1400 S. Coast Highway will feature one-of-a-kind paintings, sculptures, art glass pieces, pencil and charcoal renderings by over 70 international artists.

Laguna Chamber of Commerce helps celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on opening night.

Artists Fund Board Exhibits at City Hall

Work by board members of The Artist Fund at Festival of Arts is displayed at Laguna Beach City Hall, 505 Forest Ave., through May 30.

The Artists Fund, founded by Anne England in 2000, provides financial aid to Festival artists suffering economic hardship, an also offers a career scholarship program.

 

Watercolor Class Offers Fun in the Sun

LOCA Arts Education offers a watercolor painting class at Treasure Island Beach at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 7.

Participants will observe artists from Laguna Plein Air Painters Association painting the shoreline, receive a docent-led tour of the tidepools and take a watercolor class. The cost is $35 for adults and children ages 5 and up. Everyone will take home finished work.
