The public is invited to learn about health services and resources countywide at a free 3 to 6 p.m. community resource fair Tuesday, April 19, at the Boys and Girls Club, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.

Representatives of 15 organizations will provide information about nutrition, health care, mental health, drug and alcohol education, special education services, career technical education, housing support and more, according to a district statement.

“When I was younger, I didn’t know about all the organizations that could have helped me or someone else in our community,” said Johnny Vasquez, the district’s school community liaison and event organizer. “Just one tough situation can cause a lot of trouble. I want everyone to know how they can overcome those situations by reaching out and learning about resources available within our community.”

Vasquez leads the district’s afterschool Juntos program, which helps English learning students and their parents connect with other students and the community.
