Bestselling author Michelle Gable, who has written a second novel, “I’ll See You in Paris,” visits the Festival of Arts at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

In her debut work, “A Paris Apartment,” Gable, of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, fictionalized the true story of a French courtesan and the discovery of her sealed-for-70-years Parisian apartment, which was filled to the rafters with stunning pieces of artwork and furniture, sparking wonder in readers the world over.

Gable’s second novel begins when 19-year-old Laurel Haley, who has lost her fiancé in the Vietnam War, takes a job in England. Thirty years later, Laurel’s daughter Annie is newly engaged when an old question resurfaces: who is her father and what happened to him? The key to unlocking Laurel’s secrets starts with a mysterious book about an infamous woman known as the Duchess of Marlborough. Annie’s quest to her own history takes her from the English countryside to Paris to uncover the missing pieces in her own life.

Event is $75 and includes admission to the Festival, author reading, brunch and book.

Tickets: (800) 487-3378 or www.LagunaFestivalofArts.org.
