The public school music programs at Thurston Middle School and Laguna Beach High School received a $5,000 gift from the Festival of Arts Foundation this year.
The donation helped replace instruments, provide scholarships, allowed the bands to participate in competitions and continues to improve the program.
The Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach was awarded a $10,000 grant from the foundation for its art programs for young people. “As the giving arm of the Festival of Arts, the Foundation continues to provide funding that promotes art education and appreciation for all ages,” said Festival of Arts Foundation President Scott Moore.
The club provides programs that involve young people in the visual, musical, performing, and digital arts.
