Fewer Palettes Detract From Holiday Atmosphere

As I drove around town this holiday season, I felt something was missing.  I realized that there were fewer “artist palettes” displayed on lampposts than in past years.

Last year I felt there were fewer and this year there are definitely fewer.  Is this a budget (labor) issue?  Have the palettes disappeared or been damaged? Our town just didn’t seem to have the same holiday atmosphere.

Oh, for the days of Eschbach’s Christmas display!

Bob Coffey, Laguna Beach

Editor’s Postscript: Coffey says Eschbach’s address was 305 Forest Ave. and that the florist was one of the town’s first AIDS victims.
