Dueling Cellos to Perform
Laguna Beach Live! presents its First Sundays free chamber music concert on Sunday, March 4, at the Laguna College of Art & Design with a Cello Showcase, a program of solos, duets and trios performing works by Bach, Beethoven, Gabrielli.
The student performers are under the direction of Los Angeles Philharmonic cellist David Garrett. The concert in Studio 1 at the Art College, 2222 Laguna Canyon Rd, begins at 3 p.m. The College Art Gallery opens at 2 p.m.
The Buzz About Bee Populations
The Laguna Beach Film Society will explore the question of where the earth’s bees have gone, airing the documentary, “Queen of the Sun,” Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m.
The film airs at the Forum Theatre at the Festival of Arts’ grounds and follows the story of beekeepers and scientists as they seek an answer to this enigma.
Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 for students, and include a follow-up discussion with a local beekeeper.
Authors Visiting Local Book Store
Laguna Beach Books will welcome Kira Peikoff, author of “Living Proof,” on March 9 at 6 p.m. to the store at 1200 S. Coast Highway. She is followed by Stacy Bierlein, of Newport Coast, author of “A Vacation on the Island of Ex-Boyfriends,” on March 11 at 5 p.m.
There is no charge for either event.

Library Hosts Writer Expert on Google
Steven Levy, author of “In The Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives,” will lecture on his book Friday, March 2, at 6 p.m., at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.
Tickets are $55 and $40 for the Library Foundation members.
