Breakers’ 36-match league win streak snapped in their first conference match with Calvary 271 – 237 on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Ben Brown’s/The Ranch. The loss was first in league play for Laguna since Oct. 17, 2011.

Breaker scores were Sarah Hollinshead, 46; Claire Smithers, 51; Summer Scott, 59; Saejah Barrack, 57; and Kenya Ripley-Dunlap, 58.

The squad lost two underclassmen from last year’s championship team as the top league player, BellaRose Robinson, is being home schooled this season while second team all-league golfer Haley Rovner transferred to Sage Hill.

The Breakers match with Portola scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15, was cancelled by the Bulldogs. This past week Laguna played Costa Mesa, Saddleback and Laguna Hills, Sept. 20-22. Next Monday, Sept. 26, the Beakers face Estancia at Costa Mesa CC and visit Calvary Chapel on Wedneday, Sept. 28 at Mile Square.
