The Don Davis coached squad survived their toughest league challenge of the season with an 11-7 victory over Calvary Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 29, on the local courts. The two doubles teams of Taylor Corrigan/Lina Gleizer and Megan Mindte/Nicole Davidson easily swept their three matches. Davis took it easy on the visitors giving a number of bench players playing opportunities. Earlier in the week, Laguna defeated Godinez 17-1. Varsity has not lost in league play since 2005. This past week, Laguna met Beckman in a non-league match on Monday, Oct. 3, and were hammered 15-3 with Chloe Stuart winning a singles match and the Breakers picking up two more singles wins against the Patriot subs. Laguna will host St Margaret’s on Monday, Oct. 10.
