At Santa Margarita on Saturday, Dec. 16 in the Eagles annual showcase, Laguna defeated seventh-ranked Orange Lutheran 10-5 with Evan Tingler scoring five goals as the entire team saw play time. Sophia Lucas picked up three steals, as did Thea Walsh who also recorded eight saves. Individual goals were scored by Alana Evans, Isabel Riches, Molly Renner, Nicole Struss and Rachel Carver.
Laguna faced a very talented fifth-ranked Los Alamitos team in a home match this past Wednesday at Capistrano Valley and will host a Dec. 22 match at the Laguna Community Pool with ML King of Riverside. Next week is the Holiday Cup at Newport Harbor on Dec. 29 and 30 where the Breakers are looking for their fifth straight title.
