The Laguna Beach Interfaith Council will host their sixth annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Dr.

The entire community is invited to attend the hour-long service, which will include readings, hymns and choir singing. Gifts of canned goods for the food pantry at the Resource Center will be greatly appreciated.

Each year since 2007 the Laguna Beach Interfaith Council has put together a collaborative service with the help of Laguna’s various religious institutions, which take turns as host. This year’s participants include the Neighborhood Congregational Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the United Methodist Church, the Laguna Presbyterian Church, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the Christian Science Church of San Juan Capistrano.

The Interfaith Council’s purpose is to further cooperation between faiths and social service agencies, and to serve the sick and disenfranchised. Their strongest rallying point is their ongoing advocacy for Laguna’s homeless population.
