Laguna Beach High School student Diana Shirley received a $1,000 scholarship from the Laguna Beach Seniors.

The grant was funded by Table Top Treasures, recycled treasures sold at bargain prices on Monday mornings at The Susi Q. The pop-up second hand store was the brainchild of Skipper Lynn, a former LBS president.

The LBS Senior Council selected Diana because of her passion for improving the lives of seniors and belief in intergenerational friendships, says a statement. As her grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, Diana knows first-hand the value of social interaction for adults who are faced with isolation.
