Gratitude for Dedication of City Workers

Editor,

Last week the City of Laguna had to replace a water main on Pala Way in Laguna. The work took about three weeks and on the last day we were told that our water supply would be turned off for one day. During that day work crews worked hard to finish the project and get our water turned on by 4 p.m.  Around 3 p.m. a man came by our house and informed us that it would take until 6 p.m. for them to turn on the water. The men were working very hard to try to meet the hour of 6 p.m. but to no avail. It was to take two hours longer to fix the problem. All this time the men treated the neighbors with respect and understanding, never with a cold shoulder or a crossword. We fixed them some food around 8 p.m. and you would have thought we prepared a steak instead of a small sandwich. Then, at 8:20 the water was turned on and everything was normal again. I want to thank all of the people it took to fix the main water line on the street. They acted as true gentleman and great ambassadors of the City of Laguna Beach.

P.S.  It’s 9:30 and they are  still  working.
