The school district set May 13 for a public hearing to collect input from parents, educators, employees and the community as it develops its state-mandated Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).

The plans must describe the school district’s overall vision for students and actions to improve outcomes for English learners, low-income students, and foster youth, the district said in a statement.

In the statement, school officials say they are establishing an advisory committee to review current student achievement data and progress as well as consult with interest groups within the district, such as PTA and student leaders.

A draft plan will be presented to the board on April 22 and a second public hearing will be held on May 13. The final should be considered for approval on June 10.

Parents and those interested are invited to participate in an online survey at the District website,  http://www.lbusd.org/Page/3160.
