Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 26-year-old man suspected in a sexual assault of a Laguna Beach woman in April.
Earlier this week, police obtained a warrant for the arrest of Babak Azadgilani, also known as “Bobby”, of Laguna Niguel, said Capt. Jason Kravetz in a statement. “Attempts to arrest him at his home and place of business have occurred, but he appears to be hiding from authorities,” Kravetz said.
Not only do police want to take him into custody for the April 21 assault, but want to circulate his information in case there are additional victims, the statement says.
Police allege Azadgilani fled the scene of the assault in a Laguna home on a BMW motorcycle with the California license plate 2OM4237. A woman reported refusing the advances of a man she recently met at the beach; he allegedly choked, hit and sexually assaulted her, the Indy reported on April 26.
“Should you see this man, contact your local law enforcement agency and report it. He has an active $100,000 warrant for rape,” Kravetz said.View Our User Comment Policy
