Rock band Jamestown Revival will play their Orange County debut at the Blinking Owl Distillery in Santa Ana on Sunday, May 20.
The performance at 802 E Washington Ave. is a fundraiser for Laguna Beach resident Summer Tarango. The proceeds will help pay for her ongoing breast cancer treatment.
Though the band is based in Austin, Tex., two Jamestown band members also have Laguna ties. Drummer Ed Benrock is Tarango’s partner and keyboardist Dan Reckard grew up in town.
Included in the $125 ticket price is food and drink from Nirvana Grille restaurant and Blinking Owl Distillery. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Felder Explores a Musical Genius
Pianist and actor Hersey Felder returns to the Laguna Playhouse stage to take audiences on a journey through time and the genius of musical composer Ludwig van Beethoven.
The show based on Felder’s book, Beethoven’s music and direction by Joel Zwick opens for a two-week engagement Wednesday, May 16.
Felder brings the composer to life through the eyes of a Viennese doctor who as a boy spent Beethoven’s last years by the maestro’s side.
Performances are through Sunday, May 27, at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Dr.
Bluegrass Provides the Backbeat
“The Grass is Blue: America’s Legacy of Bluegrass and Spirituals,” finds a home at Mozambique Tuesday, May 22, when Laguna Beach Live! presents Pacific Chorale’s artistic director, Robert Istad.
The talk and music begin at 6:30 p.m. Demonstrating the musical highlights of Istad’s talk will be mezzo-soprano Denean Dyson, Jeff Askew on guitar and banjo, and Chris Booke on bass.

Doheny Blues Fest Shifts North
Headliners at this year’s Doheny Blues Festival are George Thorogood and The Destroyers and Jimmie Vaughan.
Despite its namesake and original venue at a state beach, the 21stannual event takes place for the first time at Sea Terrace Park in Dana Point on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20.
Laguna Beach residents can take advantage of the venue and arrive by trolley, which stops at the nearby Ritz Carlton.
