Julie O’Donovan Ireland passed away Nov. 3, 2012.
Born March 8, 1919 in Los Angeles, a first generation American and longtime resident of Laguna Beach, Ireland was employed by the Los Angeles Police Department and was a “founder” and retiree of Calif. State University, Fullerton.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Ireland Davis and Mary Ireland Zarth; grandchildren, Andrew (Bree) Davis, Nancy (Sergio) Billeke, Jordan Dietz; numerous great-grandchildren; sister Ellen (Nelli) Walsh; many nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends and neighbors.
A “Golden Rule” practitioner, she was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ireland requested that no official memorial be planned. However, an Irish hooly (a lively party) would be nice for those who may wish to celebrate her life; not necessary but nice.
Contributions may be made in her name to: City of Hope, Operation Smile, or Animal Crackers of Laguna Beach, if desired.
To family and friends: “Do not grieve for a life that was full.”
“May the road rise up to meet you….”
