Laguna Galleries Will Hold Benefit Auction

Three Laguna galleries, Salt Fine Art, Kelsey Michaels Fine Art and Sue Greenwood Fine Art, will auction off 42 works from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

The pieces from artists such as Jason Kowalski, Rafael Varela and Kimerlee Curyl can be previewed at Salt Fine Art, 1492 S. Coast Highway.

All proceeds benefit Ryman Arts, which provides free drawing and painting classes with master teachers to Los Angeles area high school students.

Photographers Tom Lamb, Robert Hansen and Jessica Cardelucci discuss their professional journeys at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the CAPs Gallery, 260 Ocean Ave.

The public is welcome to join the free discussion in the second-floor CAP gallery where work by the three featured artists is exhibited

 

Two Solo Shows Open at Sandstone Gallery

“Dreamscapes,” oil and acrylic paintings on canvas and board by Ann Kim, will be featured in Sandstone Gallery along with “Pressing Engagement,” a fresh selection of monotypes by Anne Moore.

Also exhibiting at Sandstone Gallery, 384 N. Coast Highway, are local artists Howard Hitchcock, Sunny Kim, Mada Leach, Hyatt Moore, Jong Ro, Lawrence Terry and Lynn Welker. The shows run through June 1.

Learn formulas to self-promote your events at a 10 a.m. workshop Friday, May 22, free to Laguna Beach gallery owners and their employees.

Gallerists will learn step-by-step instructions on how to get newspaper articles published in local papers both in print and online. Learn what editors want and how to present information in a format they can use.

Presenter Andrea Adelson is editor of the Laguna Beach Independent and Good Cause Marketing public relations consultant Robert Gluckson promotes events and teaches college journalism classes.
