The Festival of Arts’ shaded green promises to sizzle Saturday, July 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. when Jessy J brings her Latin-spiced jazz melodies to Laguna Beach, leading off the weekly “Jazz on the Green” series.

A jazz prodigy with Mexican roots, Jessy J represents an untraditional classic jazz sound with a Latin flare. Her critically acclaimed “Tequila Moon” won contemporary jazz song of 2008 from Radio & Records and Billboard magazines, which also named her debut artist of the year.

“We could not have asked for a better artist to launch our Jazz on the Green series than Jessy J,” said Susan Davis, director of special events for the Festival of Arts. “She’s young, she’s beautiful, she’s delightful, and her zesty sound is sensational. She’s going to make Festival attendees want to come out for every Jazz on the Green performance of the season!”

There is no extra cost beyond admission to the Festival of Arts, 650 Laguna Canyon Rd., for guests to enjoy the performance. Admission is free to residents.
