Stanford University sophomore Annika Dries (LBHS 2009) was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation player of the year, the conference announced this week.

Six Cardinal players total, including Dries, earned All-MPSF recognition on the various teams, as well.

Dries, who was also named to the conference’s first team, currently ranks third in the MPSF with 2.23 goals per game, and tops the Cardinal with 58 goals scored. She also joins Ellen Estes(1998) and Brenda Villa (2001, 2003) in earning Stanford’s fourth conference player of the year honor.

Dries and the Stanford team play next week in an NCAA tournament in Michigan next week. She returns home to compete with Team USA for FINA games, held in Corona del Mar on May 19.
