Laguna Beach High School lacrosse coach Robert Sant, 37, of Irvine, was arrested last week for three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with children.

On Friday, April 5, at 1 p.m., School Resource Officer Cpl. Cornelius Ashton was advised by two female LBHS students that their LBHS lacrosse coach, Robert Sant, inappropriately touched them in non-intimate areas on their bodies, according to LBPD Sgt. Jim Cota. Cota said the most recent incident happened on a school bus on April 4 on the way home from a lacrosse game. Cpl. Ashton’s investigation led to a third female victim who was interviewed.

“LBUSD leadership was notified and took appropriate action,” Cota said.

On April 9, at 1:07 pm, Cpl. Ashton and LBPD detectives responded to the city of Irvine and arrested Sant. He was held on $100,000 bail and posted bail. Cota said the investigation is still ongoing.

  1. I am so sad to see that the Indy is reporting on an “investigation that is ongoing”. This is the type of reporting that can ruin someone who has possibly done nothing wrong. Too bad the Indy feels it’s readers need something that is titillating rather than something they know as true. Give me news, not a tickle that one can use as gossip.
