Winter Sports:

Boys Basketball (2-1)

Nolan Naess scored 26 and Lucas Kravitz added 12 as the Breakers lost their opening game in the Godinez Tournament 60-56 on Monday, Nov. 26, at Godinez High School. Breakers trailed 31-18 at the intermission but battled back to make it a game. The tournament concludes on Saturday. Laguna will host Dana Hills on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 7 p.m. at Dugger Gym in the 44th meeting between the two schools. Breakers have won five of the past six meetings.

Girls Basketball (7-0)         

Laguna continued to pile up the victories against D5 schools, defeating Colton 34-32 on Nov. 20 at the Yellowjacket’s gym, and then Lennox Academy on Monday with a 48-15 win in Lennox.

Laguna will face nine more non-league opponents before facing Corona del Mar on Dec. 18 at the Sea Queen’s gym. After seven games, Anna Cheng leads in scoring just ahead of Mia Pitz at 13.1 points per game. Madilyn Garwal leads in rebounding with Cheng and Pitz clearly the top players in steals.

Boys Soccer              

The season starts Friday, Nov. 30, against Dana Hills.

Girls Soccer (0-1-1) 

Breakers tied Woodbridge 1-1 on Nov. 20 but lost to Tesoro on Monday 2-0 at Guyer Field.  Breakers were at Capistrano Valley on Thursday and compete in the Ocean View Tournament this weekend.

Girls Water Polo (0-0)

Season opened this past Wednesday against Murrieta Valley and the JV host their tournament at the local pool this weekend. Breakers face San Clemente on Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. and Coronado on Dec. 12at 5 p.m.
