Football Opens at Bolsa Grande
Laguna’s 82nd varsity season opens Friday, Aug. 26, at Bolsa Grande High in Garden Grove with the beginning of the John Shanahan coaching era at the high school. Shanahan is the 17th head coach to direct the squad and expectations are high for improvement from last year’s 2-8 results.
Breakers have faced the Matadors the past four seasons earning a 16-12 victory last year for their seventh straight series win. Laguna will open at home on Friday, Sept. 2 at Guyer Field. The festive home-game atmosphere has been enhanced the last few seasons with the addition of food trucks.
