Just finished reading an article describing Mayor Bob Whalen’s state of the city speech this past week, basically emphasizing that more civility is necessary in order to deal with all the current dilemmas facing our city, along with quite a few other articles and letters stating the same sentiment. Then, to top it, further in the Indy appeared two separate full-page advertisements condemning the Village Laguna organization and calling for a boycott of the Charm House tour, both apparently being supported by the Liberate Laguna political group.
Being a now somewhat rare fourth generation family from Laguna, I have become somewhat dismayed over the obvious polarization of our city. What Laguna Beach needs to be liberated from is the plethora of gridlock from traffic and tourists (not to mention the homeless situation) which has changed the total dynamics of our living environment.
We should all be working together on how to deal with the current situation, which is only going to get worse with the unrestricted growth and development throughout all of South Orange County. Why don’t we all come together to try and make the current situation (which I think is approaching the intolerable) better for us locals?
