Local Family in Need of Hel
We have all seen the increasing GoFundMe requests in the news lately. I am sure everyone wonders if the requests are legitimate or just a scheme to make money. I just want the public to know that the one in the Laguna Beach Independent newspaper, dated Nov. 8, 2019, is 100 percent honest.
It was at the end of a sad front-page story about a young, lovely girl named Jasmen Wilkinson who was tragically killed in a car accident in Laguna Canyon on Nov. 5. This caused her remaining family to suffer tremendous pain and hardship. She and her 11-year-old sister (who was seriously injured in the accident) were being raised by their handicapped, unemployed single mother in a simple, small residence. They managed OK with their church’s and friends’ help, but this tragic accident created a major setback, and any contributions to their medical and funeral expenses would be a wonderful gesture and warmly appreciated. I just feel I had to let people know this.
