The Laguna Beach Independent recently ran an essay by Tom Osborne about the effect of ocean warming on starfish. Though I am not an ecology expert, I want to add my concern to the effects of carbon effluent and ocean water warming on our glorious undersea environment. As a scuba diver, I see the effects of warming on corals and animal populations and it is appalling. I urge Congressman Rouda and our other California legislators, both state and national, to continue to gain bi-partisan support for carbon-reducing legislation, such as the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (HR 763) mentioned by Mr. Osborne.
