Laguna Beach Live! artistic director Bijon Watson and an All-Star Trio will perform, “All That Jazz: A Historic Retrospective of an American Art Form,”as part of the Insights program Monday, June 4.
Tickets are $10 and the event will be held at Woman’s Club, St. Ann’s Drive.
Tickets are on sale for Laguna Beach Live! summer concerts. They include the Bluegrass and BBQ concert with music by The Barefoot Movement on Sunday, June 10, at Laguna College of Art & Design.
That week, on June 13, the Jazz Wednesdays Summer Series 2018 kicks off at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Road, with the Barbara Morrison Quintet, followed by six more concerts every two weeks through Sept. 5.
Designers Show Their Wares
Designers will be presenting their collections at the Montage resort’s summer designer series beginning Saturday, May 26.
Shopping is open to locals and guests alike and will include contemporary clothing and accessories for men and women from brands such as Annabel Ingall’s leather goods and Rodd & Gunn’s menswear.
Merchandise will be showcased in either the hotel’s Treasures Boutique, the Spa Boutique or Art of Living from 4 to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays until Sept. 2.
Chicago Sets the Scene for Playhouse’s Finale
Laguna Playhouse will present “Clybourne Park,” a spin off of Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun,” in its season finale, which opens Sunday, June 10.
The show runs through Sunday, June 24, and is written by Bruce Norris and directed by Matt August.
It is loosely based on historical events that took place in the Clybourne Park neighborhood of Chicago between 1959 and 2009 when gentrification transforms a white, middle-class neighborhood.
Performances will be Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Thursdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m.
There will no performance on Tuesday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. or Thursday, June 14 at 2 p.m. There will be an additional Sunday performance on June 17 at 5:30 p.m.
