Local Lifeguards Stand Tall in State Contest

In the annual California Surf Lifesaving Association Regional Lifeguard Competition, Laguna Beach lifeguards led by team captain Gina Nourmohamadian, finished first place in its division, placing third overall, at Huntington State Beach. Nineteen lifeguard agencies took part in the competition held on Saturday, July 26.

Laguna’s team was represented by 26 athletes. Ally McCormick led the team in points earned. Mitchell Spezzaferri placed first in the men’s run swim run, as did  Cameron Zuziak in the men’s 2k run and Tommy Cantrell and Casey Parlette in the land line competition.
