A team of fourth and fifth grade students from El Morro Elementary’s Math Stars Club recently won third place in the measurement / geometry section at this year’s Mathematics Field Day Competition.
The competition included 19 school districts and 50 individual schools competing at at Capistrano Valley High School.
The El Morro team was coached by Annie Bochenek, Robert Lebby, and Cindy Sorensen. The fifth graders included Alexis Yang, Christian Herry, Mason Lebby, and Cal Nielson. The fourth grade team included Kenneth Chu, Shane Lawson, Casey Sorensen, and Kian Trengove.
