More than 150 fans greeted Kenny Loggins in an “unannounced guest appearance” at Mozambique restaurant for the filming of a documentary and reunion with former band mates.

Laguna locals Steve and Beth Wood, Poul Pedersen, Nick “I” Hernandez, Alan Deremo, Drew Hester, Jason Feddy and Bob Hawkins all toured with Loggins and now perform as the 133 Band, created by Clay Berryhill, also a local musician.

After Loggins broke with his longtime musical partner Jim Messina for a solo act in the ‘70s, he tapped Steve Wood to be his keyboardist and music director. Drummer Tris Imboden from Wood’s band Honk and Laguna guitarist Mike Hamilton also joined Loggins’ touring band.

Berryhill’s documentary is now in post-production. A release is planned in spring. Watch for 133 details at their Facebook page. The 133 Band is next scheduled to perform at Mozambique on Monday, Jan. 2.
