Long time Laguna Beach resident Maureen Bober passed away on Aug. 25, 2014, in Chicago, Ill., after a 15-year battle with cancer.

True to form, she surpassed the expectations of the wonderful doctors and nurses at Northwestern’s Prentice Women’s Hospital.  She died without pain, surrounded by her family, and was finally able to find peace. Her family and friends are grateful for all of the love and support she received.

Bober lived her life with energy, passion and unchecked emotion, with a little stubbornness sprinkled in.  Through her personality, she taught everyone how to fight, survive and flourish. Her long lasting legacy will be the strength of her character.  She was an incredible mother to Danny and loved him with all of her soul.  Her love for Danny gave her the strength to fight her battle with cancer on a remarkable level.

A funeral service was held at the Assumption Catholic Church on Aug. 28, 2014 and her ashes will be scattered in Laguna Beach at a later date.
