Mayor Pro Tem Elizabeth Pearson succeeded Kelly Boyd as mayor of Laguna Beach this past Tuesday. City Council member Bob Whalen was nominated mayor pro tem, meaning the newly elected council member will become mayor in his second year on the dias. Boyd received a special plaque embellished with a gavel as thanks for his service.
