Museum Day Brings Free Admission

Laguna Art Museum will offer free admission on Thursday, May 17, to honor Art Museum Day, allowing visitors to see the current exhibition, “Tony DeLap: A Retrospective.”

Admission will also be free for the screening of Stanley Kubrick’s  “Dr. Strangelove,” which will be introduced by artist local artist Jorg Dubin.

 

 

 

 

Learn Set Design at LOCA Art Club

LOCA Arts Education invites artists and theater lovers to learn about set and costume design from Laguna Playhouse personnel Thursday, May 17, at 4 p.m. in the LCAD Gallery, 374 Ocean Ave. Martyn Bookwalter, Jim Prodger, and Ann E. Wareham will show construction drawings, maquettes, costume illustrations and examples for the Chicago row-house themed “Clybourne Park,” which opens June 6 at the Playhouse.

Fine Arts Grads Exhibit in Santa Ana

Graduates of the Laguna College of Art & Design Master of Fine Arts program will exhibit their work at the annual exhibition, “Regarding Reality II” from June 17-30 at Q Art Salon in Santa Ana.

Summa cum laude graduate writer and activist Chloe Allred is a contributing artist to the exhibit and author of “We Believe You.” She is a founding and active member of The Body Joy Project, a feminist artist collective that critiques and challenges cultural beliefs.

Allred is currently a teaching artist at The Artist Lab, an art school in Irvine.
