Southern California Baha’i musicians will give a benefit concert for Nepal earthquake victims at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 22851 Aliso Creek Rd in Aliso Viejo.

A $20 donation is suggested for the concert, organized in part by Laguna Beach resident Suzy Elghanayan.

Design Ideas Wanted for a Village Entrance

The public is invited to bring images and graphics to be included as part of an “idea wall” at the village entrance community design workshop from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Community Center, 380 Third St.

A summary of feedback received at the June 23 walking tour and online will be presented and attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a design exercise.

City Hosts San Onofre ‘Fair’

The city is hosting an education fair from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, to provide citizens an opportunity to ask Edison representatives questions about the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.

It will take place in the Community Room at the Susi Q Center, 380 Third Street.

The Hydration Room, one of the county’s first IV and injection therapy clinics, opened for business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 31542 S. Coast Highway, on Thursday Sept. 10.

The 1,000-square foot clinic features specializes in IV and injection therapies to treat the flu, migraine, exhaustion and over-indulgence. Treatments ranging in price from $25-$195 are overseen by Drs. Brett Florie and Elizabeth Bales, both of whom reside in Orange County and work at local hospitals in the Orange County area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Attend a Free Composting Class

Waste Management will offer a free composting from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at TOW’s garden, 21601 Treetop Lane. Compost bins and worm bins will be available for purchase. Afterschool Sports Tryouts at Thurston

The city is conducting a pilot program to offer organized afterschool girls basketball and boys volleyball at Thurston Middle School for 7th and 8th graders this fall. Scouts Hold First Meeting

The first Cub Scout pack meeting of the new school year meets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept, 29. All perspective Cub Scouts grades one through five are welcome to join at the Laguna Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Ave. Parents must accompany their scout.

Free Flu Shots

Laguna Presbyterian parish nurses, along with Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital, will host an annual flu clinic from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 11, with free 
 flu shots in Tankersley Hall, 415 Forest Ave.

Spend An Afternoon In Paris

The Laguna Beach Assistance League will hold their fourth annual Friend Raiser from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 hosted by Madison Square and Garden Café, 320 North Coast Highway.

Bring a treasure for the thrift shop valued at $25 or more, or buy a $25 ticket at the door to enjoy beverages, hors d’ oeuvres, desserts, a flea market, silent auction, a fashion show and live music.
