“Fresh Faces 2016,” an exhibit of works by artists newly juried into the Festival of Arts show, kicks off with a reception Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Wells Fargo building, 260 Ocean Ave.

Selections from 15 of the show’s 18 new artists show a range of mediums and will be showcased through June 13.

 

 

 

 

Spot Emerging Talent at Student Art Sale

The community is invited to buy or trade art, paintings, prints, zines, stickers, comics, jewelry, crafts, and more made by Laguna College of Art and Design students during a student art sale on campus Friday and Saturday, April 29-30.

The sale takes place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the campus parking lot, 2222 Laguna Canyon Road.

Signature Gallery features artist Joëlle Blouin’s show “Urban Escape” for Artwalk on Thursday, May 5, 6-9 p.m.

Visitors to the gallery at 220 Forest Ave. have the chance to see her thickly textured oil paintings in a cubist style as well as enjoy a live band and cocktails.

Sister City Show Opens at Seven Degrees

The Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association hosts an exhibition and reception by artist Gianne de Genevraye on Thursday, May 5, at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd.

The exhibit will be comprised of artworks of Laguna Beach’s Sister Cities, as well as Laguna Beach, itself.

 

Artist Eye Gallery Marks its Anniversary

The Artist Eye Gallery, which displays works by 16 painters, sculptors and photographers, marks its eighth anniversary during Art Walk from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 5.

A new exhibit displays the work of landscape painters Scott Albert and Jeff Horn at foaSouth, 1006 S. Coast Highway, through July 9. The public is invited to receptions during First Thursdays Art Walk on May 5, June 2 and July 7.

“Scott captures scenic environments with extreme detail in his watercolor paintings and Jeff, a plein air painter, works outdoors to depict nature and seascapes,” says curator Pat Sparkuhl.

The Quorum Gallery invites the public to its newly remodeled space and a reception to meet the gallery’s dozen local artists during Artwalk, Thursday, May 5, between 3-9 p.m.

The gallery at 374 N. Coast Highway opened 53 years ago and was the first co-operative gallery in town.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Artist Reinvents Reality

Artists Republic showcases “Extendable Realities: Change Everything You Are,” a first solo show in the United States for London-based artist Steffi Holma, known as Super Future Kid.

A 6-9 p.m. reception for the artist is planned Saturday, May 7. The show at 1175 S. Coast Highway will be displayed through June 19.

Holma, a native of East Germany, experienced a personal awakening by her country’s unification and her artwork also reflects moments of transformation.
