Bonnie Mae Osborn

 

Bonnie Mae Osborn, mother of Nancy Wagner and grandmother of Darshan Hodges and a frequent visitor to the coast, died, on Nov. 2 in St. George, Utah. She was 88.

 

She was born on Oct. 13, 1923, in Purdy, Mo., to Clarence and Lena Marshall.  She was married to Robert Osborn on Nov. 2, 1941, in Long Beach.  She died her 70th wedding anniversary.

 

Bonnie was raised in Missouri on a farm with her sister and three brothers, all deceased.  She was 12 when the family moved to California to care for her maternal grandmother.  She lived in Berkeley and then moved to Long Beach with her mother.  There she met and married Robert, who pre-deceased her in 2007.  They raised a family of four: Nancy, Connie, Robert and Lori.  The family enjoyed camping and fishing together at Mineral King in the High Sierra and boating and fishing on Lake Mead at Temple Bar.

 

The couple were surrounded all their lives with a solid and loving group of friends and family.

 

Osborn is survived by her children: Nancy Wagner of Point Arena, Calif; Connie Beck and her husband Skip of Sandpoint, ID, Robert Hodges Osborn and his wife Laureen from Sandpoint, Idaho; and Loraine Ann Osborn and her husband Rollie Bennett from Laguna Beach. Her grandchildren are Craig , Jared and Bryan Beck; Darshan Hodges; Stacy McCarthy and Geordie Osborn. She has eight great grandchildren: Justin, Brandon, Rachel, Fionn, Sarah, Siobhan, Sean and Ryan.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd in St. George, Utah. (435) 673-4221.
