He and Knickerbocker moved to Laguna Beach in 1961 where he owned the local sporting goods store, Sports World, for over 25 years. Everyone in town knew Brockman for his wit and dry sense of humor. He loved God and his country. He was also an active member of a local church for decades.

He is survived by his wife Leone, five children Danny, Jon, Tom, Jan, Beth and their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren with another one on the way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Brockman will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery with military honors. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 25 at Little Church by the Sea, 468 Legion St. in Laguna Beach.
