It’s been just a little over a year since we’ve moved from Laguna. It made financial sense for us then, and still does today. We never took for granted the wondrous physical attributes of Laguna Beach.
I made the 12-mile drive to the terrific farmers market Saturday morning and took a walk through downtown and realized what I really miss about Laguna. Every single person that I said good morning to looked me in the eye and gave a sincere good morning in return. The kids, young and old, are so polite and well behaved.
I don’t know if it’s a cultural or language barrier, but that just doesn’t happen where I live now in Irvine. So I hereby commit to making that drive every Saturday that I can. If you see me walking through the market or downtown with my black lab Guide Dog puppy in training, thanks for saying hello and giving me my people fix. And never forget how lucky you are!
