Borthwick Receives Beautification Award

Ruben Flores, president of The Laguna Beach Beautification Council, recently presented its Award of Excellence to Laguna local Bob Borthwick. Zahide Lawrence, the widow of council founder Harry Lawrence, also spoke.

Borthwick, a landscape architect, has helped design Alta Laguna Park, portions of Heisler Park, a Park Avenue mini-park. As a volunteer, he worked on Laguna Creek restoration at the dog park and a current master plan for Laguna Canyon.

 

 

 

Gallerist Retires from Art Walk Board

First Thursdays Art Walk announced the retirement of founding board member John Eagle.

Since 1998, Eagle, who has held the positions of treasurer and director at large, has also served as a stellar role model and mentor to Laguna College of Art and Design studeents, said Robin Fuld, a fellow board member and LCAD instructor.

Eagle owns Studio 7 Gallery at 384 N. Coast Highway and remains a art festival exhibitor.
