Pet Parade Steals the Cat’s Meow

Laguna Board of Realtors hosted its most successful pet parade and chili cook off last Sunday, raising $18,000 for the 15^th annual event that benefits the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, the Bluebell Cat Foundation and the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter.

Credit goes to Caroline Haines, who created the concept; Nancy Pooley, who organized this year’s architect designed pet houses; and Kathy Blond for the Bidding for Good web site where the pet houses were auctioned. Bids ranged from $650 to $2,600.

for the highest bid.

The cattage was donated to the Bluebell Cat Foundation by buyer Jim Ardery. Fifty dogs and a lone calico cat stepped out for the pet parade.
