Laguna Board of Realtors hosted its most successful pet parade and chili cook off last Sunday, raising $18,000 for the 15th annual event that benefits the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, the Bluebell Cat Foundation and the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter.

Credit goes to Caroline Haines, who created the concept; Nancy Pooley, who organized this year’s architect designed pet houses; and Kathy Blond for the Bidding for Good web site where the pet houses were auctioned. Bids ranged from $650 to $2,600.

for the highest bid.

The cattage was donated to the Bluebell Cat Foundation by buyer Jim Ardery. Fifty dogs and a lone calico cat stepped out for the pet parade.
