A special section of the Festival of Arts each year is devoted to the creative pursuits of children, from pre-kindergarten talents to high school-aged genius.

This past Sunday, a jury announced its selected winners from the more than 300 works by Orange County students included in the Junior Art Exhibit.

The jurors included Mark Porterfield and Collin Kroeger from The PIMCO Foundation and Jacquie Moffett and Shelley Rapp Evans from the Festival of Arts.

Hundreds of friends, family members and art instructors turn out to support and congratulate the recipients.

Festival of Arts President Fred Sattler also expressed appreciation for PIMCO’s seven-year support of the exhibit by presenting Porterfield with artwork by exhibitor Pilar Cristi-Peters.

“I really enjoy the Junior Art Exhibit because you can see that the children create with their hearts and not with rules and PIMCO is proud to support such creativity,” said the local resident.
