Abstract expressionist painter Nina Kolarek-Cullen’s latest exhibition, “Pixelated World” opens at Avran Art + Design gallery with a 6-9 p.m. reception Saturday, Sept. 10, 540 S. Coast Highway.

“My inspiration is derived from a kaleidoscope of colors found in nature, vivid blue skies, turquoise oceans, and majestic orange sunsets enlighten my expression,” said Cullen, whose work has also been exhibited at John Wayne Airport.




Sandstone Displays Monoprint

“Art Under Pressure,” original monoprints by Anne Moore, will be featured along with “In the Presence of Time,” mixed media assemblages on paper by Lawrence Terry, in the Sandstone Gallery, 384-A N Coast Highway, throughout September.

Other exhibiting artists are Ann Kim, Sunny Kim, Dominique McKenzie, Hyatt Moore, Marie Pierre-Philippe, Jong Ro and Lynn Welker.


Cove Artist Sets out for September

John C. Hall, a participant in the artist-owned Cove Gallery gallery, 1492 S. Coast Highway, paints contemporary abstracts using color as the principal design element.

He also writes poetry and articles on a wide range of artistic topics. He is a board member for Art4Kids, an Orange County charity organization, which distributes art materials to seriously ill children in Southern California hospitals.
