Pirates, buried gold, treachery and mayhem all figure in the Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre’s theatrical adventure “Treasure Island,” in performances April 22 – May 1 at the Laguna Playhouse.
The production based on the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson features members of the Laguna Playhouse Youth Conservatory as well as adult actors and is directed by Donna Inglima.
Regular performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Single tickets are $18 to $20. The show is suitable for ages 5 and up. To purchase tickets, call (949) 497-2787, or visit www.LagunaPlayhouse.com.
As part of its 90th anniversary, on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. the Playhouse is also hosting a pirate-themed family event along with a ticket to the 2 p.m. matinee. Activities include: pirate hat making, storytelling, stage combat demonstrations, face painting, a treasure hunt, and box lunch. The $25 per person ticket price includes all activities, lunch and the Treasure Island performance. Kids and parents are invited to attend.
