Laguna Beach will observe special guidelines for Independence Day activities on Monday, July 4. Large crowds are always expected.
The city fireworks show will originate from Heisler Park’s Monument Point, which will be closed all day on July 4, including the south end of Picnic Beach and the northerly section of Rockpile beach. At 5 p.m., the southern end of Heisler Park will be closed to the public to prepare for the fireworks show, which begins at 9 p.m. City trolleys will run from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Prior to the pyrotechnics, the public is invited to join the American Legion to celebrate the nation’s 235th birthday at 11 a.m. for a sing-along of the “Star Spangled Banner,” a reading of portions of the Declaration of Independence, a ringing of bells and a flag folding ceremony.

In parks and beaches, the public will be expected to observe rules prohibiting alcohol or smoking. Additionally no tents, “easy-ups”, or portable BBQs are allowed on beaches and in parks. Alcohol permits are required for Heisler Park and may be obtained at the Community Services Department at 515 Forest Avenue.
No fireworks of any kind are allowed in Laguna Beach. Neither are dogs allowed on city beaches from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during summer, June 15- Sept. 16.
