Junior Haley Putnam pitches the first-ever post-season home softball game in school history. Breakers lost, but 2012 has been the best season ever for the sport at Laguna.

Softball pitcher Haley Putnam and volleyball player Jack Winn were selected for the all CIF teams announced on Tuesday, June 12, by the Southern Section office. Haley was named to the 22-member Division V squad while Jack was on the 14-player Division II team for volleyball

Putnam, a junior pitcher, won nine games for Laguna this season as the team finished 15-8m a school record. Putnam also hit .571 to lead the team in batting, banging out 40 hits including eight doubles, five triples, and five home runs. She is only the third softball player to receive the honor joining Sue Gunderson (1990) and Jessica Roche (1996).

Winn, a senior, became the 62nd boys volleyball player to receive the honor since 1973, the first season the sport was recognized by the Southern Section. Breakers were 22-9 this season making their 39th consecutive appearance in the playoffs. Winn played right side for the team and led the squad with 38 service aces.
